With approximately 2.3 million hectares of coffee plantations, Brazil is currently the world’s largest producer of Arabica coffee. This is primarily due to the fact that its territory spans three climate zones (equatorial, subtropical, and temperate), providing ideal conditions for growing coffee plants. Most of the coffee—about two-thirds of total production—comes from small-scale coffee growers. Thanks to its vast area, Brazil produces a wide variety of coffee types, but even so, one variety stands out as the absolute favorite and the best: Brazil Santos. This coffee earned the “Santos” designation after the port of Santos, to which it is transported from the São Paulo region and from which it is exported around the world.
Origin of the coffee: In the São Paulo region, located in southeastern Brazil, the coffee plant is the primary agricultural crop for local residents, and as such, it receives the utmost care and attention. Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) is grown here at lower elevations (800–1,000 meters above sea level), and it is precisely because of this that this variety is characterized by lower acidity.
Flavor: Brazilian Santos coffee is renowned primarily for its lower acidity and full body. The coffee combines chocolate and nutty notes with subtle fruity undertones. The flavor is smooth. The aroma is pleasant, with no trace of bitterness.
