Jin Hou, also known as"Golden Monkey," is an exceptional black tea from the Songxi region of Fujian Province, China. This tea is distinguished by its unique appearance, where the delicate, golden leaves are twisted into a shape resembling monkey fur. The tea has a full and rich flavour with subtle sweet notes that blend harmoniously with light hints of fruit and cocoa. Its high quality and careful hand harvesting make this tea an ideal choice for tea lovers who appreciate authentic Chinese teas with character and depth.
Origin: Songxi, Fujian, China
Processing method: loose-leaf black tea
Flavour: honey, raisins, floral, delicate, no bitterness
Harvest: 2024
Classical preparation in a teapot (500 ml):
- Tea quantity: 8 grams
- Water temperature: 95 °C
- First infusion: Steep for 150 seconds.
- Second and subsequent infusions: Steep for 210 seconds for the second infusion and 270 seconds for the third.
Preparation in gaiwan (100 ml):
- Quantity of tea: 4 grams.
- Water temperature: 95 °C
- First infusion: Steep for 30 seconds.
- Additional infusions: Steadily infuse for 30, 45, 60 and 90 seconds for subsequent infusions.
